I think I am missing something big

It feels like an itch I cannot scratch, it might be a harbinger of something momentous, and, probably not in a good way.

There is such a huge confluence of events that are so unbelievably insane, occurring around the world, that, if we put all of it together in a movie it would only appeal to minds vastly different from mine.

The movie would seem like a series of apocalyptic scenes. The protagonists in the story are subjected to these warped events, one more outlandish than the next. They just look at what is unfolding before them in a state of confusion, then, inexplicably, they take out some official looking book, from wherever they had it in safe keeping, proceeds to read a few paragraphs, pounds on their chest in an odd parody of emotion, each then performs some weird ritual involving keyboards and glowing screens.

All protagonists, that act differently, make those around them uncomfortable for no apparent reason at all, it almost seems like the approved rituals are religious in nature and all who do not perform in the strict approved manner are heretics in the story. Though not emphasized, the heretics are dealt with harshly a few obvious cases are displayed for effect.

After the ritual, the remaining protagonists attempt to return to what they use to accept as normalcy. However, the same grotesque events are making those attempts at normalcy warped. The protagonists actions become the next outrageous scene.

Every one watching is left unsatisfied with the lack of coherent action from the protagonists in the show, the lack of the protagonists attempting to identify the cause of the outlandish event, and, unable to accept there are so many people out there who would behave in such a fashion to their own detriment. The audience leaves the theatre and find themselves a part of the show.

I thought, at this point, I would make a list of the events that have made a mess of my mental equilibrium. Instead, I will make the following observation and a borrowed graphic, which I don’t know how to give credit to the artist. It seems we are not going out with a bang, nor a whimper, but, just a clown show.
