Timeless Meme from 43BC and a New Addendum from 2024AD
Somethings never change, except in the details. The details that drive the idea that "you will own nothing, and, be happy".
I saw this meme today, something that I am sure I had seen before. I guess my memory is not so great. In any case, the meme is just stating some obviously true points, but, it was written in 43BC Rome. I thought, at first, is there really nothing the human society has learned, and having learned, fixed throughout that immense time period? Then, it occurred to me, there is something a little different which I would add to Cicero’s wisdom, a, small addendum, if you will, that has made today so different. I will place my addendum to the end of the meme below:
Addendum to Cicero’s wisdom (2024 AD):
Some elitists, from points 2. and 5. above, were left unchecked, acquiring obscene amount of wealth, buys flawed individuals, from points 1. thru 9., and becomes the true power behind this exploitive hierarchy.
