I read an article by Jon Rappoport today, that, as is common in his writing, to be provocative and thought provoking. However, I am unsure why, but, a comment about the article struck me as being both genuine and powerful in its simplicity. For me, this comment caused me to think harder and feel deeper than I have for awhile. It made me feel that our human condition is not so different one from the other. It also seem to have effortlessly brought me closer to a stranger for no other reason than seeing myself as a participent in a well designed human experience, not alone, not without promise for change for the better, not a superhero effort for change. Anyway, it touched me, so I will share:
The comment,
Thanks Jon. Sitting here with cancer at 63 I often feel crazed that I don't have the energy to do what I wish I could. And yet I can always write, even if no one reads it. Or post a podcast. Something. I have to ask myself what I would do if I didn't have cancer, and just go ahead and do it. But you know what? I'm scared, cancer or not. And that's the bottom line. Once fear overwhelms the desire to act or even speak, they've got you. I look at your work and admire the energy and talent you bring to the fight, but most of all it's the absence of fear that strikes me. And I imagine if it were the same for me.

My reply to the comment,
Dear Teresa,
At 63 and in ill health, you have made me feel there is a genuine person out there. I am not claiming to be one of them, however, I can still tell the difference. I agree, Jon is fearless in his articles, he jostles my mind, so I support his work.
Readers, like yourself, make remarks, about fear and the longing to be more, that may not be the tornado unleashed of Jon's, but, it speaks to common people like myself. It may seem small, but, so are significant waves in the deep but can break into an unstoppable tsunami when the conditions are right.
You have made the move to reach out and share your humanity, we will read and recognize ourselves in your words. We move in sympathy, together, the wave begins. Perhaps, this time the eventual tsunami will wash away some of the tyranny and create a system that nurtures the best, rather than, extorts the what the elitists can, from us all.
Thanks for sharing.

I hope by sharing this exchange, it will bring some common ground to another reader. Together, we can be better and we can bring about the changes many of us long for in our hearts and minds.
Thank you browntsunami for your response. It touched me deeply in a way that helped me feel less solitary and alone. Your writing is almost like poetry. And I agree with you that this exchange illustrates the point that each of us, simply sharing snippets of our own experience can have a powerful impact, often completely unexpected. So it's important to heed the nudge to share where we find ourselves, you never know who may be right next to you, even though you can't see them. In our world right now, with all it's gravely troubling portent for all of humanity, so many of us feel lost in the shuffle, getting smaller and smaller. So thank you for extending your hand, for showing me how simple it can be to help each other not to disappear. Keep writing, and I will too.
